It consists of one or more rows of male pins typically spaced 2.54mm (0.1 in) apart, but common sizes also include 5.08mm (0.2 in), 5.00 mm (0.197 in), 3.96mm (0.156 in), 2.00 mm (0.079 in), 1.27 mm (0.05 in) and 1.00 mm (0.04 in). The distance between pins is commonly referred as pitch in the electronic community.
